Course Description

While this course utilizes on campus group sessions to orient students to the CCE course, the bulk of learning occurs in preceptors' clinics. Students will engage front office and back office staff as well as with preceptors (primary care physicians) and their patients. Students will observe history taking, physical examinations and procedures as completed by the preceptor. As students and preceptors advance student skills, students will assume some of these roles under careful preceptor supervision. The goal is to have students become familiar with all aspects of the clinical site and practice their Doctoring course skills as determined by their skill level and preceptor comfort with those skills.
