Course Description

This course prepares the student to direct a marching band at the secondary school level. The following topics will be covered: Overview of all marching styles, Teaching marching fundamentals, Understanding various forms of drill design, Creating and charting drill design, Sound considerations of an outdoor ensemble, Arranging for marching band, Utilization of student leadership - Drum Majors, etc., Effective use of auxiliary units - Flags, Dancers, etc., Marching Percussion.
