Course Description
Each experience provided by the Rural Healthcare Elective is designed to provide students with an in-depth training experience in a rural setting that has limited resources and access to medical care.
OBJECTIVES
1.Recognize and appreciate cost-effective approaches to medical care in a resource-constrained, rural setting.
2. Demonstrate effective team-building skills with colleagues from multiple medical disciplines and with local health care providers.
3.Recognize and treat illnesses common to those seen in a specific rural location.
