Course Description
Focuses on watersheds, aquifers, and river basins as sources of water to meet human and environmental demands. Methods include watershed delineation, water budget and safe yield calculation, and water quality assessment. Models and decision support systems are reviewed.
Graduate students taking the course will participate in a an all-day field trip and synthesize understanding in a comprehensive assessment of water resources with explicit emphasis on water policy linked to critical social and environmental processes across multiple scales.
