Course Description

Student Teaching in Secondary Schools is designed to provide the clinical experience necessary for preparing teacher candidates to teach in grades 7-12.

Student teaching is the capstone course of Teach Arizona. It builds on the coursework and field experience taken in prior semesters. Under the guidance and supervision of a supervising practitioner and program supervisor teacher candidates assume the professional duties of a student teacher and, in the process, demonstrate skills and dispositions necessary to meet the national standards set for teachers:

- The InTASC Standards: http://www.ccsso.org/Documents/2011/InTASC_Model_Core_Teaching_Standards_2011.pdf
- The ISTE Standards for Teachers (ISTE Standards-T): http://www.iste.org/docs/pdfs/20-14_ISTE_Standards-T_PDF.pdf
