Course Description

Concepts, skills, and techniques to diagnose and assess students with learning and mild--moderate disabilities. Includes how to develop screening, pre--referral, eligibility, and placement for individuals with exceptional learning needs skills. Includes an emphasis on informal assessment for instruction and on the introduction of formal assessment for special education eligibility. It builds on the first assessment course, teaching professionals additional evaluation tools, current brain research, and the knowledge required to address the assessment issues surrounding students with language and cultural differences. Also includes synthesizing, developing and writing a comprehensive report.
