Public and Applied HumanitiesGraduateUA - UA General

Course ID

039274

Course Description

HUMS/SLAT 584 is designed to introduce web-based tools for teaching foreign/second languages. The tools address classroom environments (course management, virtual classrooms), collaborative environments (blogs, wikis), social environments (chats, social media), as well as other online tools (media creation, communication). Each tool is introduced through journal articles that discuss its theoretical and practical aspects. Then a tutorial is presented. Follow-up activities are then assigned to become familiar with the features. Students then design language teaching material using the tool.
