Course Description

This course is funded through a grant to UA from the Office of Naval Research entitled \"Inspiring the Next Generation of Naval Scientists and Engineers in NROTC Battalions through Undergraduate Navy-Relevant Geospatial Experiences\". The 1-credit course is a basic introduction to geospatial technology and will include 7 weeks of study with approximately 20 contact hours and 30 hours of student homework. The course will be highly participatory involving hands-on practical experience using geospatial technology. Students will be introduced to the concepts of geospatial technology with a focus on applications that are relevant to the Navy and naval officers. The South China Sea will serve as a case example for course activities.
