Course Description
Students will gain proficiency performing newborn evaluations, identifying and treating common newborn problems, and understanding NRP (neonatal resuscitation program). Students will develop early competency in managing the following issues: basic position/latch, milk supply issues, nipple shields, use of supplemental nursing system (SNS), pumping, mastitis, thrush, tongue tie, reflux, milk- protein allergy, extended nursing, return to work, relactation, breast augmentation/reduction, and medications in milk.
