Course Description

This course will investigate and evaluate the importance of Narrative Medicine and non-violent communication as related to healthcare through interdisciplinary perspective. Students will read, discuss, analyze, and reflect upon the role of story-telling, communication, and cultural competence in medical professions, caregiver and patient relationships, and in communities at large. Coursework emphasizes creative and scientific expression, synthesizing Narrative Medicine and non-violent communication to better understand their healthcare applications.
