Course Description

EMD 147 provides the medical knowledge and skills necessary to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the United States. EMD 147 will provide a brief introduction to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the structure and history of EMS, and will focus on providing the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to become an EMT. With completion of EMD 147, students will have attained the required didactic training hours and skills development to meet the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) prescribed requirements for Emergency Medical Technicians.
