The MED-800D - Medical Spanish Capstone Elective is the last component of the longitudinal Bilingual Medical Spanish Distinction Track (BMS-DT). This four-credit units course provides 4th year medical students with the space to: a) enhance their medical Spanish proficiency and communication skills to care for monolingual Spanish-speaking patients; b) reflect on the influence of language and culture in medical care; and c) demonstrate superior understanding of the application of the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in health care.
