Course Description
This course will prepare students to identify, preserve, request, produce and admit electronic information.
In this course, the student will learn about the importance of electronic discovery, understand the new federal and state eDiscovery rules, and the key elements of the electronic discovery process. They will be presented with an overview of electronic discovery and information technology and how the two intersect in the practice of law.
The program will discuss the technological and legal \"disconnect\" in the legal profession, legal holds, steps to requesting and producing \"electronically stored information\" (\"ESI\"), meet and confer requirements, critical pretrial ESI issues, and, finally, admissibility of ESI.
