Course Description

Students will demonstrate and teach CPR techniques to individuals and the community as a whole to normalize its use through awareness to alleviate fear. Students will also learn about key frontiers in research in the areas of cardiac arrest and CPR. During this course, students will be required to complete a total of 45 hours of contact time dedicated to the activities of this elective. Students may obtain the optional CPR Instructor Certification on their own to add hours teaching as a certified instructor to their total contact hours. The CPR Instructor Certification is optional but not required. Certain venues require this certification before you can teach so it does make more opportunities available.
