Course Description

This study abroad course is designed to provide seminar style discussion of historical, political, and cultural information on different countries with an emphasis on how history, politics, and culture impact education and social opportunity for residents in the region. Students will travel to multiple locations as they learn about social justice, environmental justice, and multicultural engagement in the area through a dynamic, culturally responsive experiential learning environment. The class will also have the possibility to learn and interact with the University of Arizona micro-campuses and their students through service-learning opportunities. At the end of the class, students will bring back the knowledge that they experienced to campus.
