Course Description
Course Description: Stand back everyone, I'm going to science. Sounds like a great idea, right? Like all human endeavors, it depends on how you do it. Here we use real world scenarios to help you build a basic toolbox necessary in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) professions. We focus on how and why STEM professionals create, manage, analyze, and interpret data in order to discover new information, ideas, and dreams. We then learn how to translate this data into useful information for various stakeholders who themselves are focused on solving societal problems. At the end of the course, students will have a few professional necessities such as a resume, cv, and personal statement to build their careers from. Course learning objectives will be achieved through a combination of lectures, discussions, and collaborative assignments. All readings and supplemental material are open source, or free, to students. Let's saddle up and learn how to STEM, preparing you for a fulfilling profession now and in the future.
