Course Description

This class is an accelerated hands-on introduction to digital filmmaking for graduate students from the sciences. Drawing on their diverse academic backgrounds and research interests, students will gain foundational camera, sound and editing skills, and learn how to communicate their research to non-specialist audiences through producing a short creative non-fiction project, from conceptdevelopment through post-production. For the first several weeks of the semester, students will shoot exercises to learn the technical basics of non-fiction filmmaking, as they develop a short project on their research interests, to be completed by the end of the term.
