Course Description

Joining Chem-E-Car is a great opportunity for students to engage in a rewarding, hands-on, collaborative, engineering design project. Gain skills that are integral to success in the engineering profession. Participants will work in student-led teams to design and construct a car powered with a chemical energy source that will carry a specified load a given distance and stop. Learn and apply engineering principles throughout the course to design a budget, perform lab tests, and analyze performance data. Participants will have the ability to compete at the annual Regional and National Conferences where they will have the opportunity to travel with their teammates and compete against peers from other schools. Students from all majors welcome.
