Course Description

This course will cover the fundamentals and theory of Digital Imaging. Students will learn image resolution theory based on optical theory. Once the fundamentals have been covered, the class will discuss several aspects of Digital Imaging. The content will conclude with a discussion of Imaging Ethics, as relates specifically to digital imaging and as accepted by the world's scientific community. For 542 students, hands-on labs will apply and reinforce the concepts covered in class. Digital imaging is a ubiquitous tool in biomedical research and in medical practice, therefore, students pursuing many fields in medicine will benefit from an understanding of this very versatile tool.
