Course Description

This mini-course is designed to help students and junior- to mid-level professionals in the mining industry better understand the role of mine engineering in the mineral resources industry. Topics include the basics of mine design, excavation design and management, long-range and short-range planning, resource and reserve reporting, project valuation, and the interface between mining engineering with geology, metallurgy, economics, and other important aspects of the modern mineral resources industries. No prior knowledge of mining or mine engineering is required.
