Course Description
This is a 1-unit seminar-style class in which students learn about a variety of possible career paths in Hydrology &/or Atmospheric Sciences (HAS), by accessing via D2L a bank of video recorded interviews of HAS professionals, many of whom are HAS alumni. In addition, students will benefit from professional development assignments. Students will be expected to prepare a résumé and a cover letter for employment (or an internship) &/or a personal statement for applications (e.g. scholarships, graduate school applications, etc.). Other assignments include preparing a time-to-degree plan that could include study abroad plans, internships, and undergraduate research opportunities. This class is for HAS majors or minors at any point in their undergraduate degree (freshmen to last-term seniors) who seek to explore and prepare for an exciting career in HAS.
