Course Description

This course will introduce students to professional practice in engineering through a series of job shadowing rotations and a lecture series on professionalism and leadership in engineering. Engineering students need a solid understanding of basic science and engineering science fundamentals in order to work in engineering, but this course allows students early in their academic career to see the professional/practical applications of those foundational courses. In taking this course, students who are working hard to grasp engineering fundamentals will see the opportunities afforded to them once they've completed their basic coursework. This course will motivate students to persist as well as prepare them for professional experiences later in their academic career.
