Course Description
Economics provides a set of tools for the study of emergent social phenomena. This class will cover the basics of rational choice theory (and its behavioral limitations), the use supply and demand analysis for various practical purposes, and the institutional foundations of economic development. We will cover a wide range of applications ranging from personal finance, to analyzing simple microeconomic data, and to the analysis of the effects of economic and political institutions.
