Course Description

A myriad of legal, ethical, and social issues arise in relation to caring for an older population. Special attention is given to: elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation; age discrimination in the workplace and social security benefits; healthcare decision making, including advance directives and end-of-life issues; ethical issues in elder representation; and other family issues, including grandparents' rights, elder caregiving, and later-in-life marriages and divorce.
