Course Description

This course in benign gynecology medicine will provide the student with an understanding of health issues faced by women. This Sub-I elective is designed to provide students with an intensive patient care experience, in serving in an intern-like capacity by participating as an integral member of the heath care team, including active participation in gynecologic surgical procedures and family planning. The student would be expected to see consults at both BUMC-T and BUMC-South. Students will participate in the OR, inpatient service and clinic at both locations. The student will be assigned to an attending physician for a week at a time to ease their navigation between sites.
