Course Description
This course is an introduction for students to gain a foundational understanding of the development and progression of medical knowledge by using a chronological order comparing medical antiquity to the present procedures. The course compares concepts of health and disease with contemporary advancement of medical and surgical techniques.
Students will learn through a variety of methodologies by considering class lectures, review of literature and interactive discussions about how the past affects the future of medical inquiry. The course will be especially useful to pre-health science health professions (Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health).
