Course Description
This course provides a broad survey of the problem of childhood obesity with a focus on local, state, and U.S. concerns; global issues will also be considered. The course examines the prevalence, contributors, and consequences of childhood obesity. Health disparities in childhood obesity will be evaluated. The course considers multiple points of entry for prevention and management interventions (e.g., healthcare, schools, policies, etc.) as a foundation for practice in the community.
