Course Description
This is an interactive journal club elective seminar. The first three weeks of the seminar will include an orientation, introduction to databases and searching, and a practice journal club. Then, students will each take turns presenting a journal article to seminar for discussion. All students are expected to be prepared, present and actively participate in the weekly discussion.
In addition to attending the one-hour meeting, students will be expected to read one journal article per week and prepare relevant discussion questions. Additionally, at least once during the semester, each student will prepare a journal club presentation.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide students with an opportunity to explore the literature around teaching and learning. Additionally, students will participate in discussions about research methods, educational theory, and manuscript writing.
