Introduction to physical principals of laser operation, including: semiclassical laser theory, optical resonators, Gaussian beam propagation, rate equations and population inversion, 3-level and 4-level laser systems, threshold conditions for CW lasing, steady-state and transient dynamics of laser oscillation.
