Course Description

During this elective, students participate in direct patient care in the operating room, in the outpatient clinics and emergency room spending time with different faculty and house staff to insure exposure to all adult and pediatric urologic conditions. Students will act as part of the surgical team and gain operating room experience. Students will also participate in on-going studies in urinary infections, prostatic disease, and urinary calculi.

Expectations:
- Complete H& P for assigned patient
- Present history, exam and workup plan for senior resident or attending during round
- Participate in bedside procedure and operating cases
- Participate in weekday and weekend rounding
- At end of rotation, a case presentation on an interesting patient with pertinent literature search and discussion.
