Course Description
This course will address the most pressing issues challenging people's health through building connections and critically analyzing issues of health inequity from the distinct perspectives of healthcare and the lived experiences of the community. The community solution framework will enable us to see how issues such as racism, environmental degradation, and the emergence of novel pathogens are interconnected and how health equity and community-building ethics can help us heal our communities and ourselves using collective action.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to critically analyze issues of health inequity from an interdisciplinary and multifaceted approach while engaging in experiential service-learning projects within the community.
