Course Description

This course is a seminar series in which students in the Clinical Translational Sciences graduate program present their research to one another in order to gain experience making formal oral scientific presentations. The students who are not presenting in a given weekly session are expected to attend (in person or via Zoom) to hear the presentations by their peers and to provide their feedback following the presentation via an online survey in order to assist the speaker(s) with their presentation skills. Students in the CTS Student Seminar will work on the content, organization and understandability of their presentations, in addition to their personal presenting skills such as clear oration, pace, eye contact and body language in order to maximize the effectiveness of their oral presentations. Outside speakers (postdoctoral fellows, faculty, Tech Launch Arizona, etc.) may also be scheduled as time permits.
