Course Description
Scholarly literature reviews, and in particular review papers such as systematic and scoping reviews, are critical pieces of evidence to inform and support professional practice. This course will provide students with a foundation for systematically reviewing the literature including 1) understanding the rationale for performing scholarly literature reviews, 2) discriminating between different types of scholarly literature reviews, 3) appraising the quality of published scholarly reviews, 4) assembling the elements of a scholarly literature review protocol, and 5) surveying tools available for scholarly literature reviews. This course is recommended for students who wish to do a scholarly literature review as a manuscript for the three-manuscript dissertation option.
