This is an intensive hospital medicine elective in which students work one on one with a direct care hospitalist. The student will rotate on the ICU, geriatric, observation and procedural services. This will give the student a broader scope of hospital medicine. Students will be able to complete thorough assessments of ICU and geriatric patients. Manage observation patients and understand workflow and medical management of observations patient. Students will be able to understand perform ultrasound guided bedside paracentesis and thoracentesis as well as the principles of POCUS.
