Course Description
This 2 or 4-week elective introduces medical students to pediatric patients with allergic disorders, respiratory disorders as well as immunologic deficiencies. This outpatient elective will focus on the evaluation and treatment of food allergy, drug allergy, eczema, allergic rhinitis, asthma, and primary immunodeficiencies. Students will have the opportunity to observe multiple procedures including skin testing, spirometry, food challenges, food desensitization, subcutaneous immunotherapy, and administration of biologic medications.
