Course Description
This culminating experience synthesizes knowledge and skills learned regarding the production and use of non-renewable mineral resources. Students work in small inter-disciplinary teams to produce a culminating project that presents sustainable and responsible solutions to real-world technical, economic, social, and environmental issues in mining and mineral resources. Students integrate diverse perspectives as they implement data-driven decision making, effective communication, and critical thinking to bridge the gap between humans' ever-increasing demand for minerals and societies' changing priorities toward the environment and communities. Senior standing required.
