ENVS587 - Environmental Exposomics
Course ID
042997
Course Description
Conceptually, the exposome has been proposed as a new paradigm to encompass the totality of human environmental exposures from conception onwards including, and complementing, the genome. Exposomics includes not only exposures to toxicants, but also diet as well as psychological and social stressors. Whereas traditional approaches examine these exposures separately, exposomics considers interactions among them that foster a greater understanding of disease processes in humans, and how these processes may affect an evolutionary trajectory and the overall human condition.
