Course Description

This course is designed to be an introduction to best practices in teaching at the college level. By combining interactive learning, current and relevant readings, and personal reflection, the course will help learners begin to prepare for the professoriate in any discipline. Learners will reflect on their positionality and how it might impact future teaching relationships, and learn best practices in teaching, particularly culturally inclusive practices. Learners will create their own personal teaching philosophy, design a course in their discipline by creating a syllabus and course map, and create a teaching demonstration. After completing this course, learners will be ready to market themselves for jobs in the professoriate.
