The elective options allow students to develop skills and knowledge in areas of interest and in which they might subsequently wish to pursue clinical specialization. These three-week modules, students select four, will be opportunities for comprehensive education with skilled specialists and development of the necessary scientific basis and clinical and personal skills for the settings. Students may have the opportunity to participate in one of these more specialized settings for their final terminal clinical experience. Hand therapy allows students to work closely with experienced clinicians and develop a greater understanding of and ability to treat the hand. Students will work to create appropriate orthoses and interventions as well as understanding ergonomic strategies for prevention and rehabilitation.
