Course Description

This course provides an overview of trauma pathophysiology, covering the origins of injuries and the body's physiological responses. Students will explore topics such as trauma epidemiology, assessment, and the pathophysiology of various traumatic injuries. The course spans a wide spectrum of trauma, from soft tissue to environmental conditions. By the course's conclusion, students will have the knowledge and skills needed to effectively assess and manage diverse traumatic incidents, making a significant impact on patient outcomes in prehospital care. They will also complete the requirements for Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
