Course Description
The elective options allow students to develop skills and knowledge in areas of interest and in which they might subsequently wish to pursue clinical specialization. These three-week modules, students select four, will be opportunities for comprehensive education with skilled specialists and development of the necessary scientific basis and clinical and personal skills for the settings. Students may have the opportunity to participate in one of these more specialized settings for their final terminal clinical experience. In this elective module, students will learn the critical skills needed to work in the rural environment. Students will work on advanced evaluation skills including advanced differential diagnosis, consideration of co-morbidities and development of appropriate interventions across the lifespan.
