Course Description

As climate change becomes more urgent, consumers are increasingly aware that the choices we make impact our planet's health. Critics argue that marketing encourages overconsumption and is thus part of the problem. However, as a business discipline, marketing is uniquely positioned to be the intellectual, policy and practical vanguard for sustainability. In this course, you will take a \"big picture\" perspective of the marketplace and explore how businesses can benefit by taking a holistic approach to sustainability, and how they use marketing as a force for good by creating more sustainable product and service alternatives, and by encouraging less materialistic lifestyles.
