Course Description
This course is designed to equip paramedic students with specialized knowledge and skills required to navigate unique considerations in emergency medical care. Assessment and management of patients with special challenges, including pediatric, geriatric, obstetric, and neonatal care are discussed. Students will gain insights into recognizing and addressing abuse and neglect cases, as well as understanding the nuances of acute interventions for home care. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on ethical considerations, cultural competence, and effective communication in diverse healthcare scenarios. This course will also include the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification course.
