Course Description

This elective is designed to provide the opportunity for students to obtain a rich public health focused primary care experience working with the people experiencing homelessness. Students will work in an interprofessional Street Medicine team to provide daily care to patients experiencing homelessness who are rough sleeping. Circle the City's Street Medicine teams spend time visiting encampments throughout Maricopa County. Students will be expected to study the specific issues facing homelessness and enhance their ability to identify and treat the social determinants of health.
