Course Description
This 4-week elective for 4th year medical students involves a variety of activities structured to teach the essentials of refugee care. Through direct clinical experiences and community-based work, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to prepare them to effectively care for refugees and asylees during their medical careers. Through this elective, students will learn the medical, social, and legal context of refugees and asylees, and develop the clinical competency and awareness of local resources to better care and advocate for these families.
