Course Description
The Primary Care Accelerated Medical School Pathway Program (PCAMP) introduction is a week-long transition course designed to prepare students for medical school. Throughout this course, students will engage with various key figures including their preceptors, the Family and Community Medicine Director, instructional support staff, Family and Community Residents, admissions personnel, and representatives from the financial aid and scholarship office. These interactions aim to acquaint students with their upcoming working environments. The course also covers professionalism expectations and the foundational skills necessary for patient care during Clerkship, which is then followed by supervised clinical experiences. Through a blend of presentations and both formal and informal interactions with PCAMP support staff, the course endeavors to ensure students feel prepared for medical school and their subsequent Family and Community Medicine Clerkship.
