Diversifying Shakespeare: Engaging Beyond Boundaries is a transhistorical, transnational, and transdisciplinary engaged learning course that examines identity formation and diversity in both Shakespeare's plays and modern communities. This course provides students with the opportunity to analyze identity from the perspective of diverse writers across different centuries, illustrating the challenges and benefits of inclusivity as central to all social formations. By combining Shakespeare's works with a wide range of literary texts, critical theories, and real-life community experiences, students will cultivate a comprehensive outlook on the socio-political and cultural factors influencing identity development, while also recognizing the profound impact of literature in fostering meaningful comprehension.
