Course Description
This course teaches the scientific essentials of pharmaceutical science for the layperson. Topics include pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical research, drug development, and minor biostatistics. Students will learn about drug formulations, regulatory frameworks of clinical trials, and how healthcare is priced and paid for. Course content is designed to better prepare students for rewarding careers in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical sales (pharmaceutical detailing). Some background in chemistry is strongly recommended.
