Course Description
Explore the intricate interplay between psychology and exemplary performances, delving into theories, practical applications, and career pathways through dynamic lectures, collaborative behavioral consulting experiences, and inspiring guest speaker sessions. Through study of fundamentals in sport and performative behavior, this course will build theoretical and experiential understanding of what it takes for sustained exemplary outcomes. Students will explore career options related to sport and performance psychology and experience building psychological skills key to success. Consistent with the consultative nature of the field, students will complete multiple group projects culminating in consulting on real applications here on the U of A campus. Standout students from this course will be invited to apply for future internships and/or independent study opportunities working with athletes and performers striving toward excellence across domains.
