Course Description

In this workshop, you will gain real-life experience working on an urban farm that is operated by the University of Arizona, and learn about how it is used to serve the community. Each week you will spend time working on a functioning organic farm located near to the University of Arizona campus, and participate in activities ranging from prepping the land, planting, harvesting, cooking, and delivering small classes to community members on food and nutrition concepts. You will leave the course with working knowledge of urban agriculture and the ability to effectively communicate how food is produced and incorporated into nutritious meals.
